How to send a take

Put on headphones and play along.Tune in here, or play any song from the station. Headphones keep the backing out of your recording.
Record just your lead.One track, only your instrument: guitar, keys, horn, voice. Start recording before the song starts, or tell us where you come in.
Send us the track.A WAV or MP3 file, by any link (Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer). We line it up and mix it with the backing.

Your playing stays yours: You keep ownership of your performance. Sending it to us doesn’t change that.
What you let us do: Stream the mix (your lead over our backing track) on TJ Radio and hmic.dev, and show your name or handle, plus the link you sent, next to it. The permission is non-exclusive: you can still post, share or sell your playing anywhere else.
Original playing only: The lead has to be you, playing. No samples or loops of other people’s recordings.
18 or older: You need to be 18 or older to send a take.
We pick what goes on air: We listen to everything we get, and we may decline any take. We may set levels and trim the start and end so the mix fits the station; we won’t change your notes.
Changed your mind?: Email [email protected] and we’ll pull it from the station.
No payment: Features are unpaid. You get airtime and credit.
Your email: We use it only to reply to you and to get your credit right. No mailing lists.
